About Laura

Behind the Brand

Laura S. Urbina is a French-based Spanish embroidery artist and the founder of Delta V Créations, a fine embroidery studio in Toulouse. With a background in aerospace engineering and training in haute couture embroidery, she brings together scientific precision and artistic expression to create bespoke couture embroidery, textile artworks, and one-of-a-kind pieces.

For Laura, embroidery is more than a craft. It is a language through which imagination finds its way into the world, expressing what words cannot, bringing a little lasting magic into our lives.

“There is something extraordinary about turning an idea into something real, something you can see, touch, and treasure. When my work brings joy to someone, or gives shape to something they have dreamed of, I feel that the magic has truly happened.”

Early Life & Initial Career

Growing up in Spain, Laura developed a lasting fascination with science, art, and the beauty of the world around her. Drawn to both analytical thinking and creative expression, she pursued a career in aerospace engineering, earning a PhD and going on to work in academia and in the aerospace industry.

Her scientific training gave her a deep appreciation for precision, structure, and the hidden principles governing the universe. It was a path that suited her analytical mind, but her interest in creative work never went away.

A change of trajectory

After years in aerospace engineering, Laura found the courage to explore a different path, one that brought her scientific mind and artistic sensibility together. She trained in haute couture embroidery at École Lesage in Paris and Studio Eyral, developing the technical skills to transform her ideas into embroidered works.

In 2021 she founded Delta V Créations, her own haute couture embroidery studio or ‘creative lab’, as she calls it. What began as a personal change of trajectory became a new way of life: an opportunity to bring imagination, precision and emotion together.

Inspiration & Passion

Laura finds inspiration in the universe, the mathematics of nature, the play of light, and the beauty hidden in the small details that often go unnoticed. With a scientific mind and an artist’s eye, she is drawn to geometry, harmonious proportions, and the unexpected connections between the physics and human creativity.

Working from her personal studio in Toulouse, France, she explores these ideas through thread, beads, crystals, and precious materials. She also shares her knowledge through embroidery education, inviting others to slow down, experiment, and discover the pleasure of creating something entirely their own.

Beyond the words

Every bespoke project begins with a conversation. And for Laura, listening means more than hearing the words.

She pays attention to the details that often remain unspoken: the emotion behind a memory, the way someone’s expression changes when they talk about a particular place or flower, the subjects they return to without even realising it.

This intuitive sensitivity allows her to understand the story behind a project and translate what matters most into colour, form and texture.

The result is not simply a beautiful embroidery. It is a piece that feels deeply personal, because somewhere within it, the person it was created for can recognise themselves.

Crafted with care, made to be treasured

Whether created for a wedding, a couture garment, or a framed artwork, embroidery can carry a meaning that lasts far beyond the making itself. Laura’s aim is to create pieces that feel personal to their owners, to be worn, displayed, and treasured for years to come.
